MAD BOMBER

It sure sounded like the John McCain of old as he excitedly told his fellow Senators on the Senate floor the US needs to start bombing Syria to end the civil war there. McCain was not the glum, robot-like speaker he usually sounds like when not promoting more warfare around the world. McCain successfully rained bombs down upon innocent civilians in North Viet Nam 23 times in 1967 before being shot out of the skies to begin a seven year POW stay at the Hanoi Hilton. McCain parleyed his storied family history of Naval heroes - he's third generation Naval officer - and his remarkable survival of seven brutal years of torture and abuse to become Congressman, Senator and Presidential contender.

God took pity on us when he blocked McCain's ascent to the White House in 2008. Otherwise, we'd still be bombing Iraq and quite possibly Iran. Why? Because that is what a war monger and war lover like McCain does. He knows no other way.

At 75, McCain is not going quietly into that goodnight. Like me, I hope he lives long and well, even to 100 or more. But he should leave the Senate and the world stage today. He is a menace who has never learned a single lesson from all the people he has killed or maimed, either directly as a bomber pilot, or as cheerleader for American militarism, in his bloodthirsty love of war. I have an epitaph that might suit his tombstone: I CAME, I SAW, I BOMBED.
