 US extrajudicial killings…a direct line from Obama to Trump

 

Millions of Americans are horrified by Trump’s obliterating small, unarmed boats in the Caribbean. He’s bombed 29, sending them and over a hundred unidentified souls to Davy Jones Locker. He’s also killed thousands in drone attacks in many countries.

 

Trump isn’t bashful about revealing his mass murder on the high seas. He releases video of every one…except if it shows survivors hanging onto the wreckage being whacked in a second strike. Trump and his crazed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth positively glory in their secret license to commit extrajudicial murder.

 

Some who recoil from this ghoulish madness lament not having Barrack Obama back in charge. What they forget, or likely never even knew, was that America’s descent into extrajudicial murder kicked off under Obama.

 

During his administration, he chaired the weekly ‘Terror Tuesday’ meeting where he gave final approval what terror suspects were to be offed that week. No indictments, no arrests, no due process. Just kill, kill, kill. Alas that included a 17 year old girl and a 16-year-old American boy Abdulrahman al-Awlaki. Mainly using drones, Obama authorized the killing of thousands, normalizing extrajudicial murder in the US presidency tool kit. And just like Trump now, Obama refused to release administration legal justification for what clearly cannot be legally justified.

 

When it comes to extrajudicial killing, Trump is simply following Obama’s Nike playbook….Just Do It.
