14 times for Romney; just once for the voters
This Tuesday, presidential contender Mitt Romney was rummaging for votes among the horrific hurricane chaos caused by Sandy. He pretended 14 times not to hear reporters' question that those affected by the disaster want answered: Will a Romney administration abolish FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)? The reason for Romney's temporary deafness may result from his previous statement regarding this valued federal agency that has been improved and professionalized under the Obama administration after it was gutted by the Bush administration: "Every time you can take something from the federal government and give it back to the states that's the right direction...and if you can go even further and send it back to the private sector, that's even better".
Next Tuesday, the tens of millions of voters, who now realize all too well the fabulous job that FEMA is doing to alleviate their suffering from Sandy, will have their chance to feign deftness to Romney's plea for their vote and his chance to privatize FEMA. Unlike Romney they won't need to avoid the question 14 times. One time will do just fine.
