Mad Dog has bigger problem than legislative restriction on assuming Defense post

Trump's Defense Secretary pick of James 'Mad Dog' Mattis, former commander of US Marines in Iraq, has a confirmation problem. Federal law prohibits retired military from becoming Defense Secretary for 7 years. Congress will have to pass a waiver, something they only did once, fifty years ago, for Mattis to even be eligible.  

But Mad Dog, an unapologetic Islamaphobe who bragged about killing Afghans in that senseless war, has a bigger problem. He's a war criminal. As a Marine commander, Mattis led Marines in the April and November, 2004 sieges of Fullujah, in which over 5,000 Iraqi civilians were killed and buried in mass graves in retribution for the murder and mutilation of four US contractors. These killings were part of a horrendous campaign in which Mosques, hospitals and ambulances were fired upon. There was widespread use of depleted uranium, illegal under international law. Mad Dog's minions displaced over 200,000 Fallujans in the process of destroying 75% of the city.  A year later Mattis gave a pass to 8 Marines accused of slaughtering 24 Iraqi civilians in Haditha, in retaliation for a roadside bombing. The unarmed men, women, children, elderly were shot multiple times at close range by our brave hired guns. Mad Dog's legacy will go on for generations as birth defects caused by depleted uranium still occur in the area at alarming rates.

Mad Dog Mattis may be good from Trump...but he's bad for the US, indeed humanity.
