On Afghanistan, U.S. twice as dumb as Russia

It took the old Soviet Union just 10 years ('79 - '89) to figure out that a superpower couldn't conquer Afghanistan.

U.S. laughed at Russia's folly which it had a hand in by supporting Osama bin Laden and his boys.

But karma sure can be mean. Osama took that U.S. support and turned it on its benefactor, knocking down and bombing U.S. buildings in retaliation for meddling in the Middle East.

That goaded the U.S. to attempt what Russia couldn't. Another invader, another failure. But for America it took 20 years, trillions of dollars and lots of dead people to figure out what Russia did in half the time.

When it comes to Afghanistan, Russia and the U.S. are dumb and dumber.
