US sanctions, China invests. Guess who’s winning the 21stcentury?

US sanctions, China invests. Guess who’s winning the 21stcentury?

Upon his inauguration in January 2021, President Biden trumpeted his determination to win the 21st century against China. Not militarily, but economically, politically and diplomatically.

But his proclamation got upended by a rookie presidential mistake for the 6 decade long political leader. Sensible advisors cautioned Biden to pivot away from ever increasing US sanctions by his predecessors going back to Eisenhower in 1959 against Cuba. Biden has done the opposite, adding over 6,000 new sanctions covering a third of the world’s 195 countries. Worse, his sanctions cover over half of countries deemed ‘low income’. This severely restricts delivery of critically needed medicine, medical equipment and infrastructure, contributing to thousands of needless deaths.

Much of the world outside of NATO and a few Chinaphobe Far East Allies are fed up with Biden’s self-destructive strategy for winning the 21st century. Many have joined or are applying to join the 2 major non-aligned economic blocks: BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa,) and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (9 members and 4 observer states.

Both organizations are committed to neutrality and end to US sanctions disrupting life sustaining world commerce. To that end they are moving toward de-dollarizing world trade. That spells huge financial ennui for Uncle Sam.

Compounding Biden’s disastrous sanctions expansion, China is doing the opposite…investigating in developing countries, not sanctioning them. Unlike the US, China understands that sanctions never work. Their devastating effects of disease, food insufficiency bringing death, change neither the regime nor the policies of country rulers the US irrationally hate. Quite the opposite. Murderous sanctions coalesce most of the populous around leaders however corrupt and dictatorial they might be.

If President Biden pens his memoir, he might consider the title: How I Lost The 21st Century’.
