America’s 62 years of cruelty to Cuba and the Big Lie
“We are always considering options available to us that would allow us to support the Cuban people, to support their humanitarian needs, which are indeed profound. And they are profound because of not anything the United States has done, but from the actions and inactions, mismanagement, corruption of the Cuban regime.” - U.S. State Dept. spokesman Ned Price
This statement is a despicable lie. The U.S. has been embargoing life nourishing supplies to Cuba for 62 years now. Countries and financial institutions often comply with the U.S. embargo to avoid running afoul of Uncle Sam’s financial terrorism. Even 16 months of pandemic has not softened American’s cruel, senseless denial of basic resources needed even in the best of times.
President Biden joined in with this dishonorable disclaimer: “We stand with the Cuban people and their clarion call for freedom and relief from the tragic grip of the pandemic and from the decades of repression and economic suffering to which they have been subjected by Cuba’s authoritarian regime”
If Cubans would overthrow their communist government, or like Saudi Arabia, buy billions of America’s weapons of mass civilian destruction, Uncle would roll out the red carpet of American capitalistic greed in a heartbeat.
Our government lying shamelessly, continuing 7 decades of inhumane treatment of Cuba, simply reveals our moral depravity. America's foreign policy under Biden is not ‘back’. It remains an outlier as a heartless bully to the less advantaged nations incurring its wrath.
