Peace Coalition to review North Korea's nuclear weapons program at July 19th Educational Forum.

There are 14,000 nuclear weapons on the planet and 13,000 of them are in the US and Russia. All the other seven countries have 1,000 between them with North Korea having about 40 to 50 nuclear bombs. For years, North Korea has been using its potential for nuclear weapons and now its actual nuclear weapons in negotiations with the US as a bargaining chip for its desire to sign a peace treaty and end the Korean War, remove the 38,000 troops on its borders since 1953, when a truce was first declared, and rid its people of punishing sanctions. Various US administrations have reneged on negotiating promises up to the latest seemingly promising talks between Trump and Kim Jong Un.

Presenting on North Korea nukes with be Alice Slater. Alice serves as Board member at World BEYOND War and is the UN NGO Representative of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation. She also works with Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space, the Global Council of Abolition 2000, and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, which won the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize for its work in realizing the successful UN negotiations for a Treaty for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
