Time for a US memorial to commemorate millions of victims of War On Terror?

Time for a US memorial to commemorate millions of victims of War On Terror?

On this the 22nd anniversary of the 911 attacks, millions in US commemorate those dastardly attacks that killed nearly 3,000 and degraded life for thousands more.

There are US memorials galore for those victims, but not one for the millions killed, injured or displaced by US response of waging war in many countries thru invasion, drone bombings and sanctions that continue to today. Yet, it was a handful from a relatively small criminal element that deserved US ire, not millions worldwide that continue to suffer from US perpetual warfare.

What is truly grotesque is that presidents, Congress and military continue to use the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) that attack provoked to wage war relentlessly 22 years on.

Yes, let’s create a national memorial for all those hapless millions that continue to suffer and die for bloodthirsty American revenge.

And every peace loving American should write their Congresspersons to repeal that murderous 2001 war authorization forthwith. It may not stop presidents from waging war worldwide….but it will remove their ‘go to’ excuse for senseless violence against innocents.
