CRY ME A RIVER

The sight of Karl Rove choking back tears while announcing his resignation as President Bush’s political advisor would be touching if it weren’t for the six years that the tens of millions of Americans have spent choking back tears from the immense damage this man has done to America.

Did he choke back tears when he orchestrated the smearing of John McCain in the 2000 South Carolina Republican presidential primary widely viewed as the springboard to Bush’s nomination victory?

Did he choke back tears when he masterminded a campaign of hate over cultural wedge issues like gay marriage to solidify the Evangelical Bush base?

Did he choke back tears when he proudly served as a key member of the White House Iraq Group (WHIG) whose sole purpose was to market the made up and unnecessary Iraq war with a deceitful advertising campaign?

Did he choke back tears when he participated in the outrageous attack against former ambassador Joe Wilson and his wife for Wilson’s expose of the administration’s lies about Iraq’s non-existent WMD?

Did he choke back tears when he issued marching orders to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to fire Bush appointed US Attorneys simply because they resisted administration efforts requiring massive prosecution of democrats for vote fraud?

His comment that he was privileged to be a witness to history is a bit self effacing. He was more like a ringleader making history – very bad history.
