WHAT ABOUT THE SIXTH?

A huge Justice Department criminal investigation resulted in the pre-dawn arrest of 127 mobsters in New York, New Jersey and Rhode Island this week. Over 800 FBI agents carried out the investigation and arrests, one even made in Italy, for charges of extortion, drug trafficking and murder committed over a three decade period.

Let's see - Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese, and Luchese; the five major crime families all suffered numerous casualties to the long arm and memory of the law. Sadly, a sixth crime family, one whose crimes and victims dwarf the combined criminality of the aforementioned fearsome five, has so far escaped accountability for an eight year trillion dollar crime spree costing America over 4,400 dead, 33,000 wounded, as well as several million dead, wounded or displaced Iraqis. I refer of course, to the Bush crime family headed up by former leaders George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and Condoleezza Rice, whose lies, propaganda, fear tactics and intimidation cajoled America and key allies like Britain to make up and launch a criminal war against Iraq without suffering an iota of consequence, whatsoever. After eight years Americans are still dying in Iraq and terrorist suicide bombs still explode weekly in a devastated land that had zero such bombings before the Bush crime family unleashed "shock and awe" on that pitiful piece of pockmarked real estate, turning it into a near ungovernable hellhole. Today's Iraq headline? "57 killed, mostly Pilgrams, in Iraq car bombings."

And what are those intrepid crime moguls doing these days? They're all publishing books bragging about their crime spree and earning millions of dollars. President Obama has blithely dismissed calls for investigations and prosecutions saying we don't want to look back, we want to look forward. What former law professor Obama and his chief law enforcement officer, Attorney General Eric Holder won't admit, is that the American inspired and led Nuremburg War Crime Trials don't allow for turning the page on what that Tribunal called the most heinous of crimes: criminal war. Obama and Holder satisfy our thirst for justice with the bread and circuses of a splashy organized crime mega bust, while the arch criminals of this century enjoy splendor and riches beyond measure.

If there is justice in an afterlife, the current enablers of this mis-carriage of justice, when called to account for failing to investigate and prosecute the sixth, won't be allowed to plead the fifth.
